How Combi (Combination) Boilers Work
For domestic hot water, incoming water flows through the heat exchanger when a hot water tap is opened within the combination boiler. From there, the boiler water from the heat exchanger heats the domestic water to the desired temperature. For space heating, a diverter valve directs the heated boiler water into what’s called “the external space heating loop.” Keeping your space at the perfect, constant temperature for building occupants.
